Bernice H. (Hauke) Brace

Bernice Hauke Brace age 103, died on Sept. 11, 2016 at Clark Retirement Community.  She was born in Bangor, MI to Elsie Lillian & Guy G. Hauke and was the third of four children who have all preceded her in death.  Bernice graduated from Bangor High School in 1931 and Blodgett Hospital School of Nursing in 1934.   In 1938 she married Venner Edmunds Brace who passed in 1981.  She did volunteer nursing later in life and was a member of Trinity Methodist Church.  She always enjoyed flower gardening, pets of all kinds, walks in Nature, various crafts and reading.

She is survived by two children, Barbara Brace Hatch of Tallahassee, FL and William (Sandra) Brace of Holland, MI. Three grand children, Shannon Stewart, Aneisha (Shaun) McMillan and Caleb Brace along with several great grand children.  She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

At her request, there will be a grave side service for family at Woodlawn cemetery by the Clark Chaplin.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Trinity Methodist Church, Humane Society of West Michigan, or Clark Retirement Community.
