David E. Fowler

David Eugene Fowler 85, of Grand Rapids, MI, passed away on June 3, 2017. David was a successful entrepreneur and businessman with interests in insurance, transportation and finance. He was active in the United Methodist Church serving as Chairman of the United Methodist Foundation, Conference Board of Pensions, Council on Finance and Administration and on various other boards and committees. He also chaired the Board of Directors of Clark Retirement Community and was active in and supported a broad variety of art and community organizations. David was preceded in death by his parents, Rev. Eugene and Mary Jane Fowler and first wife Dawn Fowler.  He is survived by his wife Suzette Fowler, her children and grandchildren, his son, David “Mick” (Deliah) Fowler, daughters, Diane (James) Hull and Julie (Christopher) Chase, his granddaughter Katherine Chase, and his sister, Mary Jean (David) White and their children and grandchildren.  A memorial service will be held at the Clark Retirement Community Chapel, 1551 Franklin St. SE, Grand Rapids, MI, Friday June 9th, at 1:00 pm.  In lieu of flowers you may wish to make contributions to the Lowell United Methodist Church, Grand Rapids Salvation Army, Guiding Light Mission, In The Image, or other charity of your choice.
