Dorothy J. Mulder

Dorothy Jane Mulder of Cascade, passed away peacefully with her family by her side Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at the age of 96.  She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Jeanne (James) Hribal of Osprey, FL, Dale (Ruth) Mulder of Alto, and Michael (Ann) Mulder of Alto.  Also surviving are her grandchildren Jennifer (Fred) Turner, Christina (John III) Armaly, John (Tricia) Mulder, Aaron (Rachel) Mulder, Laura (Luke) Carl, great grandchildren Kelsey Smith, Paige and Madelyn Mulder, Benjamin and Andrew Mulder, Wesley and Evelyn Carl and Winifrid Armaly.  She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years John. 

Dorothy graduated from South High School in 1939 where she met the love of her life John Mulder.  She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who always put others first.  Being a child of the Great Depression, she was a very resourceful person with a wonderful sense of humor.  She made the family cottage at Bills Lake the touchstone point of our family.  A special thank you to the Health Care Associates, Spectrum Hospice and the Health Care staff at Sentinel Pointe for their wonderful care. 

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday January 22nd at the Metcalf & Jonkhoff Funeral Home, 4291 Cascade Rd. SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49546.  Visitation will be Sunday at the funeral home from 2-4pm and one hour prior to the service.  Burial in Woodlawn Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of ones choice.
