Faith Esther NystromApril 10, 1930 ~ April 12, 2017 (age 87)
Faith Esther Nystrom, age 87, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 12, 2017. Faith was born on April 10, 1930 in Pontiac, MI. She was the third of nine children born to Hilbourne and Esther (Hammond) Boadway. She married Darwin Elmer Nystrom on February 26, 1949 in Manton, MI. She was a resident of Grand Rapids, Cascade Township the past several years living with her daughter and son-in law. She and Darwin lived three years in Cadillac, MI prior to his death in 2005 and in Jackson, MI for 35 years. She was a member of United Methodist congregations throughout her life. She was a life-long homemaker raising their five children. She loved her family, the family dogs, along with traveling and writing to life-long friends.
She is survived by her children Darlene (Leroy) Shively, Jim (Diane) Nystrom, Linda (Benton) Heisler, Jeff (Jeanne) Nystrom, and Robert (Ronda) Nystrom; grandchildren Lindsay (Bryan), Allison (Jesse), Shannon (Ed), Jordon (Monica), Kelsey (DJ), Hannah (Travis), Elin, Isaac, and Joshua; great-grandchildren Magnus, Greta, Ginger, Titus L., Titus J., Hudson, Asher, Judah, Edward & Weston; brothers, Bill (Sharon) Boadway, Glen (Leilani) Boadway, Roy (Bruni) Boadway; sister-in-law’s, Effie Boadway, Nancy Boadway, Shirley Boadway; Faith was preceded in death by her parents and siblings Norma (Bob) Barcome, Betty (Bob) Backus, Ken Boadway, Chuck Boadway, Howard Boadway. A private family service is planned for Saturday, April 22 at the Cadillac UMC and interment of Faith’s cremains will be in the Maple Hill Cemetery in Cadillac. Memorial contributions may be made to “Fresh Water for Haiti” with checks payable to The MI Area of the UMC Haiti Task Force, 11 Fuller SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49506.
