Ingrid T. (Bouwkamp) Weaver

Ingrid Weaver, 51, of Grand Rapids, passed unexpectedly to eternal greatness on Wednesday, February 17.  Ingrid was married to Matt Weaver on October 9th, 1993.   She was a loyal servant leader at Porter Hills for 29 years where she served as VP of Business Development. Her contribution to the community was endless as she sat on many boards and touched the lives of many generations through her dedication and commitment to improve elder care.  Ingrid was happiest when she was with her family at the their beloved cottage in Grand Haven sitting high above Lake Michigan, sipping a glass of wine taking in the beautiful views with Matt and her daughters Olivia (20) and Maddie (17) and their dog Stella.  Ingrid loved entertaining friends at the cottage and on their boat and would often take boating excursions on Spring Lake and Lake Michigan. Spending summers at the cottage was such an important part of her life so much so that she and Matt decided to make it their full-time residence. She poured her heart and soul into renovating her childhood cottage into the perfect forever home.  Among her interests she was most passionate about animals and animal welfare. As a young adult she was a competitive horsemen competing in Hunter and Jumper categories.  Ingrid was strong, compassionate, intelligent, witty and a beautiful person. She and Matt raised their daughters to be the same. Olivia is continuing her education at Kalamazoo College as a Business and Spanish double major and Maddie will be attending Western Michigan University in the fall.   She was preceded in death by her father Roelof Bouwkamp and her step father Jim DeFouw. She leaves behind her husband Matt Weaver, daughters Olivia and Maddie Weaver, her mother Tieke DeFouw (Tieke’s Beauty Salon circa 1960-1976), sisters Barb, Chris and her brother Steve, nieces and nephews and many other members of the beloved Weaver family.  Celebration of life services will be held on Monday, February 22nd at 2pm at the Cultural Center at St. Nicholas Church, 2250 East Paris Ave SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49546. The family will greet friends on Sunday, February 21st 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm at the Metcalf & Jonkhoff Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions are suggested to the Lupus Foundation or the Ingrid Weaver Tribute Fund at Porter Hills.
