I am Kay, a friend of Eunice and Jim. I met Eunice before Jim entered the picture, so we met him and all the family at their wedding. My husband, Leroy and I became Jim's friend also, and I am calling this memory, "Oh the Places You Will Go". Where exactly? So many places, so many adventures and oh so much wonderful food and HAPPY times together. One most memorable was the Lodge. We slept in the bunk room, and Eunice and Jim chose to sleep outside in the snow in sleeping bags---after Jim made a roaring fire in the fireplace. Another time, we woke to heavy snow. To get me out to the main road Jim used a power saw to get the fallen tree out of the way. During the various times that we were at the Lodge, we ventured to the Dublin General Store (Meijers of the North), took hikes, went golfing, had dinner at Club 37, went on the stage at Interlochen and sang "Row, Row, Row Your Boat...", golfed at Cadillac and went to garage sales in Manistee. In Florida we went to the rodeo in Arcadia, horse shows, bear shows, art museums, aquariums, zoos and various ports of call. We visited many restaurants in Michigan and Florida and had St. Patrick's Day dinners at each other's houses. Some of the best restaurants were Sharky's, British Pub, Cranes and Boatwerks.
Jim had a love of sports and enjoyed watching football whether in person or on TV. He also enjoyed playing the card game of Golf, as well as Mexican Train. His talents were cooking and crafting pieces of art from glass. I treasure the green bowl that he gave me.
This Swede went to Sweden, Hawaii, Kosovo, as well as many places in his MG. So now I imagine he is fulfilling what was left on his bucket list.
We shared many adventures and the emotions of life---joy of marriages, elation on the birth of grandchildren, the comfort of a good meal with good friends, sadness at divorce, sorrow of death of siblings and parents. In summary the love of life worth living, adventure, and faith in a hereafter.
Tour on, Good Buddy. We were fortunate to have you as a friend.

Mr. Johnson-you were a "Champion" to us all. The best memories ever of the Lodge, football games at U of M, a beer or two on the Johnson deck, worldly discussions and your sincere interest in each of us. We all loved you and will miss you dearly. I wish we could have had more time but it was time for us to start our families and you a new adventure with Eunice. I know you are now with your Karen, and that makes us all so very happy. You are truly one of the "best."
