George, Mark, Karin, Greg, Gary: So very sorry. Psalm 34:18 says "The Lord is close to the brokenhearted." I pray that you will some solace in the Lord in these days of mourning.

In my brief time in knowing Katy as the Rector of St. Mark's in Grand Rapids where Katy was very involved for many years, I found her to be an elegant, thoughtful, engaging and dignified lady in the truest sense of those attributes. A beloved member of the St. Mark's Episcopal Community, she served God and the people of God at St. Mark's with enthusiasm and energy and will always be remembered with great admiration and respect. I was priviledged to know her and to share stories of where she and George had lived in the south, my part of the country, and also to hear of her deep love for her family and friends. She is at peace, and may God be with dear George and the family to give them comfort during these difficult days. We have prayed for them at St. Mark's and will continue to pray for God's strong comfort and peace and for well-being for George.
