Marina A. Zazakis

Marina A. Zazakis, of Grand Rapids, passed away Sunday November 5, 2017 at the age of 89.  Marina was born in Tinos, Greece on May 28, 1928 to the late John and Maria Gizi.  She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 63 years Athanasios, children James D. Zazakis, John (Laura) Zazakis, Eugenia (Vasili) Kapralos; grandchildren Kathryn Marina Zazakis, Athanasios Kapralos and one sister Lilli Gregoriou.  Marina was preceded in death by her sisters Koula Rigopoulos, Foni Pangkalos, Voula Christopoulos and brothers Petros and Haralambos Gizi.  Marina was an active member of the Greek-American community at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church for over 60 years and was active in the Ladies of Philoptochos.  Most importantly, she was a loving wife and mother and will always be remembered by her family and friends.  We will always remember her smile and the love she had for her family.  The funeral service will be held 11:00 A.M. Saturday November 11, 2017 at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 330 Lakeside Dr. NE, Grand Rapids, MI 49503.  Visitation will be held Friday from 6-8pm at the Metcalf & Jonkhoff Funeral Home with a Trisagion service at 7pm.  Visitation will also be one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church.
