Stanley A. Robertson

Stanley Albert Robertson, age 72, of Ravenna MI, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family and friends, on Tuesday September 13, 2016 at Faith Hospice Trillium Woods.

Stanley was born in Pontiac, MI, November 30, 1943, to Albert Jr. and Edna Robertson.  Stan’s priority in life was always taking care of his family and he loved them deeply. Stan has requested that he be remembered in the following manner: “I’ve always tried to help others in the hopes that I’ve touched their life so they knew God’s love and grace”.  He and Sally were deeply involved in DeColores for over 20 years.   He said of himself “I’m a Jack of all trades and a master of none.”  He worked for many years for Ryder Truck and was Manager of the Amway Truck Fleet until his retirement in 1997.  His passion in life was his street rods and antique cars.

Stan was preceded in death by his parents Albert Jr. and Edna, brothers, Ronald and Gerald, and has a missing brother, Duane.

Stan is survived by his wife of 19 years Sally Robertson, Daughter Carey Van Slooten, and Grandson Zachary Van Slooten and Special Friend George Cubitt.  He is also survived by sister Sandra Cates, Nieces Shawn (Don) Parry and Dawn Hancock.  He is also survived by many great nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Thursday September 15 at Metcalf & Jonkhoff Funeral Home, 4291 Cascade Rd. S.E. Grand Rapids, MI  from 2pm to 4pm and 6pm to 8pm.  There will also be a visitation one hour prior to the Celebration of Life Service at the church.

The Celebration of Life Service will be at Third Reformed Church, 2060 Michigan St. N.E., Grand Rapids, MI on Friday September, 16 at 7pm with dessert to follow.
