Virginia "Ginnie" B. (Broomhall) Gould

April 27, 1926 ~ October 16, 2016 (age 90) 90 Years Old

Virginia "Ginnie" B. Gould, age 90, passed away on Sunday, October16, 2016.

She was preceded in death by her husband Roger J. Gould, their son David James Gould, and their two grandchildren, Jason Michael and Nicholas John Gould. Ginnie is survived by their children, Charles (April), Richard (Bobbi), Thomas (Susan) Gould, Nancy "Nan" (Robert) Collins and Teresa Gould, 10 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

Ginnie was a lifelong member and married Roger at East Congregational Church where she volunteered her time in many areas. After getting married, she was a bookkeeper in Ypsilanti while her husband was earning his college degree.  She and Roger also were enthusiastic members of the East Church Bridge Club for many years.

Ginnie's greatest joy was her family. She had great love for her husband Roger who she met as a child and reconnected with as an adult. Ginnie and Roger were married for over 63 years prior to his passing. Ginnie devoted her love and talents into the family home raising their 5 children, while being an active PTA member, carpooling, sewing, gardening, and even lending her artistic talents to refinishing some beloved furniture in their home. She especially enjoyed filling her house with all of her family for the holidays or summer gatherings and she took great delight in preparing various meals and treats for those occasions. While their children were young, Ginnie and her husband Roger explored much of Michigan's Upper Peninsula together while blessing their children with a love for camping and exploring the outdoors. They also ventured with their young children to the West Coast and back while exploring California, the West, and many of the National Parks along the way. She and her husband continued their adventures after their children were grown by traveling to states that they had yet to explore and completing their goal to visit all 50 US states. In their travels they also visited many of the Canadian provinces along with Spain and Portugal. They further enjoyed many trips to Florida during the Michigan winters which included stops in Georgia to visit with family. Along with traveling, Ginnie and her husband also shared a love together for photography while enjoying the art and beauty of developing their own film and making enlargements. Together Ginnie and Roger also enjoyed throughly researching and documenting their family genealogy.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 24 at 1:30pm in Klise Chapel at East Congregational Church. The family will greet friends one hour before the service, from 12:30 to 1:30 pm Monday at the church.

In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to Alzheimer's research, Alz.org, Hospice of Michigan, or Diabetic Research on Ginnie and Roger's behalf.
