Els Thayer Obituary

Els Thayer (Boekman) of Grand Rapids, went to be with her Lord on July 21, 2019. She was born November 9, 1927 in Hilversum, The Netherlands. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph N. Thayer in 2014. Surviving are her children Sandra A. Kelly (Pete), Kim L. Fields (Paul), Marc W. Thayer (Polly) ; and her grandchildren Alan C. Kelly, Erin A. Fields, Ian B. Fields (Rachel), Amy R. Inns (Timothy), Alex W. Thayer (Amanda), Asa J. Thayer (Danyelle) ; and 5 great-grandchildren. Els received her undergraduate degree from Marietta College, Marietta, OH and her graduate degree from University of Wisconsin, Madison, WI. Work experience prior to starting a family was in medical social work. The family will hold a private memorial service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Porter Hills Foundation Benevolent Fund, or Redeemer Presbyterian Church, Ada, MI.
