Lois K. Chadwick, age 100, passed away January 19, 2022. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ed and Alice Klein, her husband, Bob, her sister, Marlyn Hampton, her niece, Lois Hampton and her daughter in law, Lindsay Chadwick. Lois was born on August 6, 1921 in Cincinnati, Ohio. Later, her family moved to Glen Ellyn, Illinois where she attended Glenbard West High School. Following graduation, she attended Beloit College where she met her future husband of 60 years, Bob. She majored in psychology and was a member of Delta Gamma Sorority. She was a wonderful mom, grandma and great grandma. Family always came first. She loved tennis, golf, playing bridge, travel and for years she made amazing Halloween costumes for her grandkids. She was a member of the Pantry Board Guild at Blodgett Hospital, where she volunteered for 27 years. She was a devoted fan and supporter of East Grand Rapids Tennis, and always watched three of her grandkids play.
She is survived by her three children, Bob Chadwick, Lyn Chadwick and Diane Chadwick Alt, five grandkids, Julie Alt Hatfield, Jennifer Alt Madden (Jason) and William Alt (Kim), Kimberly Chadwick Hoag and Mark Chadwick, nine great grandkids, Ryan and Kylie Hatfield, Ellie and Billy Madden, Liam and Charlotte Alt and Taylor, Brandon and Kelli Hoag, and her nephew, Steve Hampton.
We would like to thank the staff at Clark on Keller Lake for their wonderful care and kindness over the past 11 years. You all meant a great deal to her. We would also like to acknowledge Emmanuel Hospice for their care during the last two months of her life.
Per Lois’ request, a private graveside service and interment will take place at a later date at Graceland Memorial Park.
