Steve Volkhardt

J. Stevens “Steve” Volkhardt, aged 75, of Grand Rapids, passed away May 26, 2022.  He was born April 29, 1947 in Niles, the son of John and Doris (Clarke) Volkhardt.  He was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter Molly Hulbert, and his brother Michael.  He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Susan of Grand Rapids, daughter and son-in-law Sarah and Daniel Kushner of Ada, and 4 grandchildren, Ethan and Gavin Hulbert, and Matthew and Samuel Kushner.  He attended Forest Hills High School and Grand Valley State University, where he graduated with a BS Degree in Biology.  He spent his entire career at the family business, Photolith Inc.  He was an active member of Forest Hills Presbyterian Church where he was a Deacon, Elder, and Head Usher. 

A Memorial Service will be held 1 PM Thursday June 2nd at Forest Hills Presbyterian Church, the Rev. Jim Pollard officiating.  The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service from 12-1 PM at the church.  Memorial contributions are suggested to Forest Hills Presbyterian Church.  Online condolences may be made at www.metcalfandjonkhoff.com
