William Anthony Obituary

William Michael (Mike) Anthony, age 81, passed away on April 8, 2024 in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Mike was born to Marjorie Lucille and William Robert Anthony on September 3rd, 1942 in Terre Haute, Indiana but moved to Long Beach, California when his father returned from service in WWII. The family moved back to Indiana where he finished his education, began working at an insurance company and met his future wife, Janet Myers. Mike and Janet wed on May 5th, 1963 in Oxford, Ohio. After they married, Mike was drafted and served in the United States Army in Vietnam. Following Mike’s service in the Army, they moved to the Bay Area of California to raise their two daughters and build their careers.

Mike traveled frequently as an International Sales Vice President in the food industry and enjoyed sharing some of these trips with Janet to explore new places. They then retired in Surprise, Arizona where Mike became a devoted caregiver to Janet during her 14-year battle with cancer. Mike had recently relocated to Grand Rapids, Michigan in February of 2024 to be near family. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Janet Myers Anthony on April 22, 2021.

He is survived by his two daughters, Felicia and Amanda (Stephen) Craig, four grandchildren, Marina (Shane), Wyatt, Talia, and Olivia, one great grandson, Cody, and siblings, Marilyn and Richard (Sherry) Anthony. He will be proudly remembered by his family as loyal, protective and generous beyond measure.
