Brian J. DeVries

Brian J. DeVries, age 59 passed away unexpectedly November 23, 2019 due to complications from a fall. He was preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Gloria DeVries and sister Brenda DeVries.  Surviving are his sister Marcia (Rick) Howard, brother Michael (Lora) DeVries along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Brian was proud of his 20 years’ service at the Gerald R. Ford Airport, enjoyed life and was a good conversationalist. He had a great love of sports, especially Griffins or Red Wings Hockey and if an event was looking for volunteers Brian was always available to help out. 

His generous spirit of giving was reflected by the donation of organs and tissues to the Gift of Life Foundation. A family gathering of remembrance was held on November 27, 2019, followed by interment at Fairplains Cemetery in Grand Rapids.

He enjoyed his position in the family as the fourth and youngest child and he will be dearly missed.
