Colleen Carter

Colleen Jo (Cunningham) Carter, age 77, originally from Detroit and more recently Kentwood, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Monday, May 27, 2019. Colleen was born in Detroit on February 10, 1942. She graduated from Ambrose High School and attended Central Michigan University. She spent most of her career working in customer service in the automotive industry. After her retirement, she moved to Kentwood to be closer to family and grandchildren. She spent her time in retirement playing games and making new friends at her retirement home, attending her grandchildren's sports and school events and traveling to visit family. Colleen is survived by her loving children Tamarah (Wiltz) and John Rodriguez of Virginia Beach, Mark and Laura (Becker) Wiltz of Ada; her four grandchildren, Matthew Rodriguez, Joseph Rodriguez, Emily Wiltz and Mason Wiltz; her sister Jill (Cunningham) and Frank Rosenbaum of Arizona. She is preceded in death by her husband Donald Carter; parents William and Ann (Masinick) Cunningham and her sister Sybil (Cunningham) Breden. Colleen was a beloved mother, grandmother and aunt to her family. Colleen will be remembered by her easy spirit, infectious laugh and her kind heart. Memorial contributions can be made to either Spectrum Health Hospice or to the American Cancer Society .
