Ellen B. (Halverson) Custer

Ellen Custer (nee Halverson) age 43, of East Grand Rapids, passed away on Saturday June 23rd, 2018.  She was preceded in death by her father James.  Ellen is survived by her loving husband Scott and her two amazing daughters Chloe and Lucy, her mother Cathy Halverson, sister Adrianne (Greg) Busch, father and mother in law David and Karen Custer, and many other family members.

Ellen loved being a part of her community, was active at the girls’ school, and enjoyed golf, skiing and cooking.  She was passionate about writing, and a loyal animal lover.  It was impossible not to be impacted by her glow and her infectious laugh.  Her kindness, humor and creativity made a lifelong impression on people.  She will be sorely missed.

The family will host a visitation on Thursday from 5 to 8pm at the Metcalf & Jonkhoff funeral home.  A Celebration of Life Open House for close friends and family will be held Friday June 29th from 2 to 5pm at Cascade Hills Country Club, with a short service starting at 4pm.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Mental Health Foundation of West Michigan 349 S Division Ave., Grand Rapids, MI 49503.
