Jon Henningsen entered into Glory on September 27, 2019, following a courageous battle with lymphoma. He was 75 years old at the time of his passing. He is survived by his wife of forty years, Marge, children Leeann (Steven) Reyers, Jack (Armine Nalbandyan) Henningsen, and grandchildren Easton Reyers, Jay Reyers, Ella Henningsen and Dylan Henningsen. He is also survived by his sister Ruth (Mick) Parks, brother Rick (Sue) Henningsen, and several nieces and nephews. Jon was preceded in death by his brothers Jim and Roger.
Jon graduated from Union High School, and then went to work in the family business for West Michigan Printing, where he served as President and a partner with his brother Roger until his retirement in 2006. West Michigan Printing was renowned for founding the Grand Rapids Legal News, which it published for several decades.
Jon really enjoyed working with his hands. He and Marge built their home together in 1980, and in retirement, he enjoyed buying and restoring El Caminos. Jon was a loving husband, father, and grandfather, and was especially proud of his grandchildren, who loved him very much. He will be greatly missed by all.
A visitation for friends and family will take place on Wednesday October 9, 2019 from 2-4 and 7-9pm at the Metcalf and Jonkhoff Funeral Home, 4291 Cascade Rd. SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49525.
