Joseph Parini of Grand Rapids, passed away on April 27th, 2019 after a lengthy illness. He was born in the Bronx, NY and moved to Grand Rapids in 1959 having been recruited by Bill Lear, of Lear Inc. During his storied career, he served as President and CEO of Lear Siegler Inc., now GE Aviation. He served on the boards of Foremost Insurance, Wolverine Worldwide, Old Kent Bank and Trust and the Board of Trustees of Aquinas College. During his lifetime he supported many organizations such as The Right Place, which have led to making Grand Rapids a major US city. Surviving Joe are his wife Patricia, children Gregg (Alice), Gail (Craig), Christine, grandchildren, Joe, Solomon, Gabriel, Simon, Sarah, Luke, Grace, brother Ronald (Alicia), sister Geraldine (Reinhard), sister-in-law Charlotte (Jim), brother-in-law Bob (Betty), stepchildren Debra, Tracy, Michael, step grandchildren, Andrew, Ted and Sarah and many nieces, nephews, friends and colleagues. Memorial contributions can be made to Aquinas Emeritus College Sister Mary Aquinas Weber Endowment. Funeral services will be held on Friday May 3rd, 2019, 11 am at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, 1025 3 mile Rd. NE Grand Rapids, MI 49505, with visitation starting at 10:00 am. There will be a luncheon following the service at the church.
