Judy is survived by her husband of 42 years, C. Wesley Harpold, her sons Dr. Douglas (Dr. Pamela Hoppe) Coulter of Portage, MI, John (Zelda) Coulter, daughter Nancy Coulter, stepson Michael (Anne) Harpold, and stepdaughter Gerri (Christopher) Rhein, all of Grand Rapids, 7 Grand Children and 8 Great Grand Children. She earned undergraduate & graduate degrees at MSU, taught elementary school in Grandville, MI and finished the last 24 years of her career as a Professor of Education at GVSU. Judy was an accomplished singer and played both piano and cello. She sang the role of Cherubino in the first Opera Assoc. of West Michigan's production of Marriage of Figaro in 1967. She also performed in numerous Civic Theater, Saint Cecilia Music Society, Circle in the Park, and GVSU Theater productions. For a number of years she was principle soloist for Fountain St. Church Choir and later Soprano Section Leader for Mayflower Congregational Church Choir. Burial will be private. A memorial will be held at a later date.
