Karl Arthur Romence

Karl Arthur Romence, age 45, of Grand Rapids, Michigan died unexpectedly on Sunday, July 29, 2018.  He is survived by his parents, Dr. Jack and Lija Romence, sister Kristina Romence, and wife Heather Romence. 

Karl attended Forest Hills schools until high school when he transferred to Grand Rapids Christian High School and graduated in 1992.  He furthered his education at Grand Rapids Community College.  He worked a variety of jobs until he found his love of food and cooking.  His last years were at Sunrise Senior Living where he enjoyed preparing meals and delivering joy to the residents everyday along with creating something special for a variety of private gatherings.

Karl's hobbies included artwork, landscaping, woodworking, and hiking.  He brought passion to everything he touched and it showed recently in the transformation of the home that he shared with his wife Heather.  Karl had a beautiful, infinite heart and he would jump at the opportunity to help anyone in need.  He was dearly loved by his aunts, uncles, and cousins.  His lifelong friends were always special to him and he cherished them all.  His dynamic personality, smile, and friendly attitude will be greatly missed by his family and all those who knew him.  He also adored animals especially the dogs that he had in his life.  Please honor him by showing kindness and being helpful to others.

Honoring his wishes, cremation has taken place.  A celebration of Karl’s life will be held Sunday, August 12 from 4:00 – 7:00 pm at Watermark Country Club, 5500 Cascade Road, SE, Grand Rapids, Michigan.  We welcome you to come and share your memories and stories of Karl and his life.  In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to your favorite charity in Karl’s name.
