Kathleen Johnson

Kathleen Elizabeth Johnson (Brinker), age 88, of Grand Rapids died unexpectedly October 26, 2019 at her home. Kathy was a 1948 graduate of Reed City High School and later married Carl F. Johnson. She was a devoted Mother and Grandmother who loved to help others.  Her grandchildren were the smartest kids in the world. She loved her family and they were a source of great pride to her. She volunteered at her church as a member of the choir and on the funeral lunch committee. Kathy appreciated humor and good cuisine, and had a passion for gardening. She was predeceased by her son, Scott and her daughter, Jane.  She will be lovingly remembered and missed by her sister, Patricia (Michael Frazier); her daughters, Mary (Sam Bird) of Haslett, Kristine Malone (Paul Miltgen) of Manistee, Jo (Neil Almond) of Charlotte, NC, Julie (Steve DeLanoy) of Ada; her sons, John of Cadillac and Paul of Grand Rapids and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.   The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 4:00-7:00pm at Metcalf Jonkhoff Funeral Service where a Rosary will be recited at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday. There will also be and one hour visitation prior to the 11:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial,  Wednesday at St. John Vianney Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to God’s Kitchen or the music ministry of St. John Vianney Church.
