Kenneth Albert Pepper, age 70, of Grand Rapids, continued his journey to be with the Lord on the evening of Saturday, September 21st, 2019 at Spectrum Health (Butterworth). He was a proud family man, loving husband, brother, father, grandfather, and great grandfather.
Kenneth was born in Benton, MS on November 8th, 1948 to Preston Pepper and Mary Eliza Boddy. He was the youngest of 7 siblings. He moved to Pontiac, MI at a young age and worked for General Motors for several years and during that time he met his beloved wife Lucille in October of 1967 as a blind date in Bloomfield, Michigan; he later married her in April of 1968. Following the marriage, they relocated to Grand Rapids, MI, where Kenneth followed his desire and passion which led him to lead in Interior Design for over 25 years at Spectrum Health (Butterworth), where he retired in 2003. Kenneth is preceded in death by his wife Lucille Pepper, daughters, Nina (Phillip) Morrow and Robin Cotton; 3 grandchildren, Chad, Philip Jr., Christina and great-grandchild Jiselle. Anyone who knew Kenneth knew he was very detail-oriented and particular about his home and his yard. He loved his grass, outdoors and especially his cars. He was a man of very few words and when he spoke that was it. Avid sports fan from the Lions, Pistons, and Tigers, and of course Go Blue!
Services will be held on Saturday, September 28th at Metcalf & Jonkhoff Funeral Service 4921 Cascade Road, Grand Rapids, MI. The family hour and visitation will begin at 10 am and funeral services will follow at 11 am.
