Maxine H. Webb

Maxine H. Webb (nee Mueller), of Grand Rapids, MI age 93, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 22, 2018. She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Clarence, and her brothers Eldor, Hilbert and Arlo. Born on June 24, 1924, in Dwight, Il, Maxine was head Obstetrical Nurse at Saint Luke’s Hospital in Chicago, when she met and fell in love with a charming physician, Clarence “Spider” Webb. They married in 1948, raising five children in his native Grand Rapids. She will be lovingly remembered by her children; Scott (Sue) of Gore, New Zealand, Judy of Ann Arbor, Jim (Theresa) of Clarkston, (formerly Rockford), Brad (Sharon) of Grand Rapids, and Chris (Karen) of Burlington, Vermont; 7 grandchildren; Ben (Emily) Webb, Kate (Joel) Disbro, Brandon (Kendra) Webb, Brent (Leslie) Webb, Emie (Lee) Badersnider, Melissa Webb and Tyler Webb and 9 great-grandchildren (with 2 more on the way). Maxine was a member of St. James Lutheran Church. She was active with the Blodgett Hospital Women’s Auxiliary, Women’s City Club and many gardening clubs. She loved keeping a sharp little garden.  The family would like to thank the staff of Porter Hills and Spectrum Health (Blodgett Campus) for their care of Maxine. There will be a time of visitation at The Meeting House located at Porter Hill 3600 E. Fulton St. at Noon on Saturday April 28. A memorial service will follow at 12:30 PM. Should friends desire, contributions may be sent to Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park.
