Barb, I wanted to share a remembrance. When Micah was on TBTV, he would announce the speech and debate results with the vigor and enthusiasm of a sports caster. Always cracked me up!

Dear Mike, Barbara, Dayna and Leah, I am so sorry about Micah. I know what it is like to lose a child and a brother. The pain is unspeakable. It hurts to even breathe at times. I also found the the grace of God in Jesus Christ is even greater in sustaining us through such rough times. It is this grace that gives us life and breath everyday. It is this grace that has placed MIcah into the everloving arms of God. Please give yourselves lots of time to grieve. It took me 9 years to be able to talk about my daughter's death with out crying and 18 years later the tears are not far away. I went to counseling to help me talk about the grief and it was a big help. I learned how to live on, even thrive in the life God has given me despite the emptiness a child's death leaves in my heart.
I found and still do find this paraphrase of Isaiah 43:1-5 very helpful.
1 But now thus says the LORD,
who created you, and formed you,
do not fear, for I have redeemed you,
I have called you by name, you are mine.
2 When you pass through the waters, I will be with you;
and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you;
when you walk through fire you shall not be burned,
and the flame shall not consume you.
3 For I am the LORD your God,
the Holy One of Israel, your Savior.
4 Because you are precious in my sight,
and honored, and I love you,
5 Do not fear, for I am with you.
May the love of God, grace of our Lord Jesus Christ and the endless comforting presence of the Holy Spirit be with you. Bob Garrard
