It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our husband, father, son, brother, and grandpa, Nicholas Cariano, at the age of 68. We let God take his hand and lead him into an eternal life of health and happiness, free of the cancer he courageously battled over the last 8 years. He is welcomed into Heaven by his infant daughter, Jennifer; and father, Thomas. He leaves behind to mourn his passing and celebrate his life his wife of 44 years, Janice; sons, Chad (Sara) and Christopher (Megan); mother, Alice; siblings, Bill (Cindy) Cariano, Sam (Kay) Cariano, John (Sandy) Cariano, Fred Cariano, Angie Cariano, and Theresa (Bob) Sorensen; his two beautiful grandchildren, and several beloved nieces and nephews.
Nick graduated from Catholic Central High School and Aquinas College. He spent his entire career as a sales representative in hardware materials until retiring from Gemmen’s Hardware in 2018.
He loved watching Michigan football, listening to music, reading about history, and coaching youth sports. However, his greatest passions were his family, friends, and faith.
The Mass of Christian Burial will take place 11am on Monday June 3rd at St Stephen Catholic Church. The family will greet friends on Sunday from 4 to 6pm at the Metcalf & Jonkhoff Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Aquinas College Annual Fund.
