Thomas P. Nicholson was born on November 12, 1942 to Dewey and Norine (Dean) Nicholson in Grand Rapids, Michigan. He went home to be with his Savior on September 17, 2019 surrounded by his loving family. He graduated from Catholic Central High School. He is survived by his wife of 56 years Pamela Nerheim Nicholson, sons Thomas D. (Emily) of Alto, and Christopher J. of Belmont. He will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered by his six grandchildren Kyle, Brooke, Tyler, Paige, Alisha and Kobe. He is survived by his brother Shaun Nicholson, nephew Brady and niece Melissa. He is also survived by sister-in-law Phyllis Newman Mastic, brother-in-law Gerald Nerheim (Jill) and several nieces and nephews, and special friends Jennifer and Cate. An important part of his life was his dog Biscuit. Thomas was a lifelong member of St. Thomas the Apostle Parish. He was employed by General Motors for 30 years, and he was a friendly and successful furniture salesman at Dream House and Israels. Tom and Pam enjoyed traveling abroad and Sunday at Lake Michigan Beach was a favorite past time. He enjoyed the daily crossword puzzles and his collection of ships and coins. A special thank you to nurse Esther and nurse Denise at Marywood, and also a special thank you to nurse Dick and aide Sherry at Hospice. A memorial Mass will be held at St. Thomas the Apostle Parish at 10:30 am Monday, September 23 with greeting the family one hour before. The Parish is located at 1449 Wilcox Park Drive SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49506. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Thomas or to Spectrum Health Hospice 750 Fuller NE, Grand Rapids, MI 49503.
