Willemina Petronella (Schook) Vree May 22, 1916 – October 27, 2017.
Willemina was born in Lienden, the Netherlands and immigrated to the United States in 1961 where she lived to be 101 years old. She died peacefully surrounded by the love of her children in Grand Rapids, MI on October 27, 2017.
Willemina was married to Albert Vree for 67 years. They were blessed with four wonderful children. She was a Registered Nurse in the Netherlands and continued her career in the United States. At the beginning of World War II she took care of wounded soldiers close to the front line. In the United States she provided loving care to many patients doing private duty nursing until her retirement.
Willemina was the Matriarch of the family. Among her many strengths and attributes, the greatest gift she gave her family was her unconditional love and non-judgmental attitude. Her spirit lives on through them all, from the oldest on down to the youngest. Her most loved verse from the Bible was: Luke 6 verse 37, “Do not judge, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven.”
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Albert Vree. She is survived by, Anke and Phillip Pearson, Arie and Mary Vree, Jay and Sheri Vree, Keith and Marcie Vree; her grandchildren, Saskia and Paul Koepke, Quincy and Lisa Pearson, Adam Vree, Theresa Vree and Andrew Lynch, Steve and Stacey Vree, Ryan and Megan Vree, Nicholas Vree, Melissa and Jim Farris, Jared Vree, Bryce and Julie Vree and Amber Aspinwall; her great-grandchildren, Reece, Leighten, Emersyn and Drake Koepke, Quincy Pearson Jr., Lily, Coleman and Anderson Vree, Hayden, Liam and Norah Mina Vree, Adelle, NaLila, Chloe and James Farris and Cooper Lynch; sister, Lena (Schook) Schulp; sister in law, Agnes Wansink; special niece, Corrie Schulp Pearson (Vincent) and several nieces, nephews and many friends.
