Wilma Jean (Buhler) deBruin

Wilma Jean deBruin, age 66, of Grand Rapids, passed into the loving arms of her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, January 2, 2018. Mrs. deBruin was born in Grand Rapids, MI on December 19, 1951 the daughter of Ernest and Frances (Knuth) Buhler.  She graduated from Wyoming Park High School in 1970 and entered Grand Rapids Junior College where she received her Associate's Degree in Secretarial Studies.  She worked as support staff and in media resources for Thornapple Elementary School for 25 years and was an active member of Calvary Church. She lived her life surrounded by her many lifelong friends and loving family.  She enjoyed her biweekly bible study meetings, spending countless hours with friends, and raising her children and many grandchildren. On July 16, 1977 she was united in marriage to Frank G. deBruin, who survives.  Also surviving are two children and their spouses, Brandon and Cassandra (Cole) deBruin of Martin, MI, and Vartan and Cortney (deBruin) Garibyan of San Diego, CA; four grandchildren, Gavin, Austin, Valentina, and Rylee; her siblings, older sister Virginia (Buhler) Wargel and her husband Ed Wargel of Wyoming, MI and twin sister Vivian (Buhler) Pattison and her husband Brian Pattison of Mesa, AZ; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
