Barbara Shook

Barbara Helen Shook, age 77, of Grand Rapids passed away peacefully on Monday, August 30, 2021.

Barbara was born in Grand Rapids, MI on May 29th, 1944 the daughter of Lawrence and Helen Arkin. She graduated high school from Marywood Academy, class of 1962 and has resided in Grand Rapids her entire life. She also worked as an elementary school secretary in the Grand Rapids Public School system for 25 years.

Barb was an excellent cook who enjoyed entertaining her friends and family. She also enjoyed the sun, the beaches in Grand Haven, MI and shopping for collectibles & antiques. Surviving is one son, Rob and Kim (Addis) Shook of Ponte Vedra, FL; two grandchildren, Noah and Addison Shook and several cousins. The family will receive friends at the Metcalf and Jonkhoff Funeral chapel from 12:00 to 1:00 on Friday, September 3, 2021, with the funeral service starting at 1:00 pm.

Interment will follow at Graceland Memorial Park Mausoleum.
