Beloved Daughter, Sister, Aunt, Wife, Mother, Grandmother, and Great-Grandmother, Betty Ann (Foley) Buist, age 88, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 10, 2022.
Betty Ann was born in Albion, MI on March 12, 1934, the daughter of Virginia (Boughton) and Clifford Foley. Ambitious, determined, gifted with a heartfelt laugh and genuine friendliness, she marched through life with an understated elegance. A notably empathetic and compassionate Woman, a humble leader, an avid conversationalist, also with a curiosity that led her to great adventures.
Love for Family was a dominant force, always room for another at the dining table. She taught proper nutrition and shared the pure joy of cooking. Her reverence for our natural environment was lifelong. Impeccable gardens and landscaping were her soulful creation. Gracious parenting forever, remembrance of important dates for all, and a fine curator of Family memories. Uncanny ability to project her voice (Frank!) to gain his attention, anywhere, anytime. Her many passions included art, books, music, theatre, beaches, and sunsets.
Dedication to Family, and Franklin Buist Jr, her husband of nearly 60-years, was her greatest love. She leaves behind her loving children: Cheryl (Grand Rapids), Jacquee and her husband Mike (Denver), Franklin and his wife Nurdan (New Orleans), Michael and his wife Linda (Pensacola), David and his wife Kaitlin (Lansing); Grandchildren: Ahnuh and her husband Ryan (Chelsea), Maryn and Lincoln (Lansing); Great-Grandchildren: Lea and Cohen (Chelsea); several Nieces and Nephews.
A Celebration of Betty's life will be held 1pm on June 25, 2023 at East Congregational Church.
