Brenda Merizon

Brenda J. Merizon, age 69, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 22, 2023 with her husband Fred by her side.

Brenda was born in Alma, MI on April 16, 1954, the daughter of John and Patricia Curtis. She graduated from Shepherd High School and later in life graduated from Aquinas College in Grand Rapids with a BA degree in business. She worked for AT&T for 35 years in various capacities. She also volunteered for causes she felt strongly about, like Voters Not Politicians. She was a member of Ada Congregational Church.

On October 5th, 1996, she married her husband Fred, who survives. Also surviving is her mother Patricia Yampolsky of Salmo, British Columbia, Canada; sisters Beverly Zell (Gary) of Vero Beach, Betty Matznick (Brad) of Lake City; stepdaughter Melinda Merizon of Lowell, MI and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father John W. Curtis.

The family will receive friends at the Metcalf and Jonkhoff funeral home Friday January 5th from 4 to 7 pm.

Burial will be private for family and close friends. A memorial service will be planned for a later date.
