Daryl “Bud” Loras Wolfe, age 87, of Grand Rapids passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 23, 2024, surrounded by his family.
Bud was born in Canton, OH, on April 4, 1937, the son of Victor and Violet (Schultz) Wolfe. He graduated from Lincoln High School followed by Bowling Green State University where he attained a BA Degree in Education and joined Sigma Chi fraternity. Bud went on to serve as an officer in the U.S Army stationed throughout Germany.
While teaching school in Lorain, OH, Bud met his wife Marguerite (Walton) Wolfe who was teaching across the hall. They married on August 23, 1964. Bud is survived by his wife, son Trevor (Andrea) Wolfe and 3 granddaughters, Erica, Rachel and Ashley Wolfe. He was preceded in death by his sister Carol (Dick) Quesnel and brother Dale Wolfe and one son, Chad Wolfe.
Bud entered sales in the industrial chemical industry and moved to Grand Rapids in 1968. He started Broadmoor Products in 1980 where he worked for over 40 years alongside his family. He loved his family dearly and spent his free time golfing at Greenridge CC then Egypt Valley CC. Bud owned a dozen race horses that ran at summer fairs and MRC. He and Margie spent their winters in Marco Island, FL, where they had a wonderful community.
Bud had an amazing group of friends and co-workers who he cherished. He not only lived a great life but he made a great life for himself and for everyone around him. He will be missed more than words can say.
A private family service was held at Metcalf & Jonkhoff Funeral home with a graveside service at Graceland Memorial Park & Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions are suggested to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
