Carol Anne Gibson born September 11, 1959 in Pontiac Michigan, went home to be with Jesus from her home in Wyoming, Michigan on Wednesday, January 4, 2023. Carol loved to serve people in her community especially children and veterans. She served in children’s church as a teacher and taught youth sports at the YMCA. She got certified as a hairstylist at 17 and worked in various salons in the Grand Rapids area, as well as providing in home services to those who could not get to a salon. She left Pontiac and found her way to Grand Rapids where she enrolled at Grand Rapids School of Bible and Music (now Cornerstone University) where she met her future husband Michael. Her interest in the medical field led her to volunteer at Pontiac hospital, and later at Kent Community. She found employment at Waldon Woods assisted living, and after earning her RMA at Ross, she found employment at Interim Healthcare, Michigan Heart and Vascular, Dermatology Associates, and Health Care Associates. Carol is survived by her husband Michael, sons Jarad and Avery, and siblings Dave, Ken, Beth and Karen. She is preceded in death by her son Ethan, parents Richard and Marilyn, and sister Lynn.
The viewing will be on January 12th from 5pm to 8pm at Metcalf and Jonkhoff Funeral Home, 4291 Cascade Rd. SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49546.
A Celebration of Life Party will be held on January 27th from 6-9 pm at BHM Fellowship Hall, 1065 36th St. SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49508.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Civil Air Patrol Grand Rapids Senior Squadron.
