Carol J. Wabeke

Carol Jean Wabeke passed away Thursday, November 7, 2024 at the age of 78.  She was born in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan on January 12, 1946 to the late Russell and Kathryn Shobbrook.  She is survived and will be dearly missed by her children Todd (Kristy) Wabeke, Kathryn Bumgardner (Jeff Tibbs), Ryan (Jamie McArthur) Wabeke, grandchildren Kyle, Kendall, Maxwell, sister Elaine (Bryan) Mincks and in her later years of life, partner Steve Norton.  She was preceded in death by her husband Gregory in 2006.

Carol held various clerical roles throughout her working years. She traveled the world and enjoyed cruises with her late husband and friends of theirs. Carol was an avid reader finishing 2-3 books a week. She enjoyed hosting gatherings of family and friends. Carol was a great cook and made classic tailgate recipes for Michigan State football games that are still carried on today. She and Steve enjoyed car rides looking at the beautiful scenery Michigan had to offer. They also enjoyed tackling crossword puzzles together.

A memorial visitation celebrating her life will be held from 11am-2pm on Friday November 15, 2024 at the Metcalf and Jonkhoff Funeral Home.  Private interment will be at Cascade Cemetery.
