Caroline Grace Medema

Caroline Grace Medema, age 8 days, of Grand Rapids, MI passed away peacefully into the arms of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on September 17, 2025 with her mother and father at Helen Devos Children’s Hospital.

Caroline was born in Grand Rapids, MI on September 9, 2025 the daughter of Brent and Lorene (Dreisbach) Medema. Her pout and big spirit had her parents wrapped around her little finger moments after she was born. They were excited to take her home, but 25 hours after her birth she was admitted to the NICU. For the next 7 days Caroline fought with all her strength. While it remained unclear why she was not getting better, there was peace that God was calling her home. Matthew 19:14 Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.”

Surviving are her parents, Brent and Lorene (Dreisbach) Medema, and her siblings, Molly and Graham Medema. Also surviving are her grandparents Don and Sandi (Flickema) Medema and Eric and Marie (Brulez) Dreisbach; aunts and uncles Jon and Marlei (Medema) Simmonds and Ben and Annie (Dreisbach) Bowen; and cousins, Jacob and Kaitlynn Simmonds; great grandparents Joan (Leonard) Medema and Paul and Kathy (Messenger) Flickema.

The family will receive friends to celebrate her life at Ada Bible Church (East Paris Campus), 1640 E Paris Ave SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49546 on Thursday, September 25th. Visitation will be at 10am and funeral service at 11am.
