During processing, it was discovered he was a bridge engineer working on the John C. Lodge Freeway, including the bridge under Cobo Hall, and therefore did not go into active duty.
After retiring, Claude committed his time to civic endeavors. Claude became an active member of the Cascade Township Planning Commission and the Zoning Board of Appeals where he continued to use his expertise and vision to enhance the quality of life of his surrounding community. Due to Claude’s dedication and generosity, the Cascade community now has a universally accessible children’s park. The Marion and Claude Robinson Children’s Playground is located in the Cascade Township Recreation Park. Claude has also brought joy to children and adults alike by making possible a large fish aquarium which is located inside the Cascade Township Library.
