Cynthia Kay Brown, age 66, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 25, 2023, in the presence of her Lord and beloved family. Born in Cheyenne, Wyoming on December 29, 1956, while her father was in the U.S.A.F., Cindy came to Grand Rapids, MI as an infant when her parents, Roger and Patsy (Staggs) Williamson returned home after the service. Having attended Alger Elementary School, Cindy graduated from Ottawa Hills High School in 1974. She spent most of her working career in the food and beverage industry serving, bartending, managing, and owning. She also spent considerable time doing volunteer work. On September 1, 2001, Cindy wed Donald Brown on a beautiful, sunny day on the shores of Lake Michigan and so typical of Cindy, she was so excited because she didn't have to wear shoes! Cindy is survived by her husband, Donald; daughter, Kelley (Eritt) Batdorff; grandchildren, Haileigh (Reed) Jelinski, Kamber Hopkins (Steve), Kaitlynn (Josh) Millar, Eritt Batdorff (Bri), Landin Batdorff (Sommer), Espn Batdorff, Lukah Batdorff; six great-grandchildren; her mother, Patsy Lindquist; father, Roger Williamson; brother, Paul Williamson; brother-in-law, Steve Brown; sister and brother-in-law, Sharon and Scott VanderWerp, as well as several nieces and nephews. Cindy’s family will receive friends at the Metcalf & Jonkhoff Funeral Home, 4291 Cascade Rd. SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49546 on Thursday, December 7, 2023, from 10 - 11 am followed by a service beginning at 11:00 am.
