Dale F. Bensted

Dale Fredric Bensted died peacefully in his sleep on January 26, 2024.  He is lovingly remembered by his wife of 42 years, Patricia Sienstra.  Also surviving are his brother David (Chris) Bensted, son Jon Bensted, daughter Amy (Dan) Jaracz, grandchildren, nieces and nephews.  He was also close to Patricia’s sister, Mary Myers and her son Jason (Penny) Myers. 

Dale graduated from East Grand Rapids in 1965 and attended Grand Rapids Junior College.  He was a solitary soul, believed in God and loved a quiet life.  He was a hard worker and could build or fix almost anything.  His passion was sailing on Lake Michigan, then down to the Bahamas in retirement.  He also enjoyed skiing, tennis, and loving on the dogs.  According to his wishes cremation has taken place and a private graveside service will be held at Woodlawn Cemetery.  Memorials in Dale’s name may be made to Mackenzie’s Animal Sanctuary or Mel Trotter Ministries.
