Daniel J. Roelofs

Dan left this world for his eternal home on December 20, 2021. Born August 20, 1954, Dan was the beloved husband of Sharon for 46 years. He owned Ada Body Shop, where he continued to work until he went home to be with his Lord. Dan had a love for nature and was building a home that encompassed the joy it brought him. His humble spirit and commitment to God and family were seen by all those around him. His life was a testimony of a race well run through the sacrifice and love that defined his character. He was the loving father of Christine (Nathaniel) Thompson, James (Samantha), Robert (Lisa), Thomas, and Mark (Audrey). Dan is also survived by his brother John (Sally), sisters Agnes Fish and Lynn (Jay) Mol, sister-in-law Trudy, and 12 grandchildren: Kathryn, Andrew, Ethan, Grace, Malia, James, Camryn, Jordyn, Meadow, Tiernan, Declan, and Kherington, with an additional grandson expected in January. Dan was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Henry Roelofs.

The funeral services will be held at 11am on Thursday December 30, 2021 at Forest Hills Baptist Church, 3900 East Fulton St., Grand Rapids, MI 49546.  The family will greet relatives and friends for a visitation at the Metcalf and Jonkhoff Funeral Home on Wednesday from 5-8pm and again on Thursday at the church one hour before the service.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Right to Life or Ele’s Place of West Michigan.
