David Browning Ferriss, age 67, of Grand Rapids passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 31, 2025 at his home surrounded by his family.
Mr. Ferriss was born in Detroit, MI on May 6, 1958 the son of Harold and Jane (Dever) Ferriss. He graduated from Birmingham Groves High School and went on to attend University of Michigan Dearborn where he received his Bachelors Degree of Engineering. He spent most of his life working in the automotive industry, specializing in trim products.
David was an active member of Mariners’ Church of Detroit where he served as Head of Acolytes and was on the Board of Trustees for many years. He enjoyed spending time working on cars, boating, playing sports in the backyard and attending his children's activities.
Above all, he cherished his family. On September 25, 1987 he married Kristine M. Stanecki. He also leaves behind his brother, Michael Ferriss and wife Andrea; his children, Arthur Ferriss and fiance Jules, Laura Englebert and her husband Adam, Joseph Ferriss, and Katherine Vicari and her husband Kevin; along with two cherished grandchildren Eden and Francis.
A celebration of David’s life will be held at Mariners’ Church of Detroit on Thursday, June 12, at 1:00 p.m. Parking for the church can be found at Ford Underground Garage, 30 E. Jefferson Avenue, Detroit (underground garage entrance is in the median strip of Jefferson Avenue). Reception to follow.

David will forever be remembered for his hard work ethic, his generosity, and his wonderful sense of humor. He will be deeply missed.
