David John Veneklasen

David John Veneklasen (also known as “Doc” by his friends) passed away from heart failure on Sunday June 18, 2023.  He was born February 16, 1950 in Grand Rapids, MI to the late John E. and Cordelia M. Veneklasen.  He will be lovingly remembered by his sisters Nancy (George) Wanty of Grand Rapids and Susanne (Bob) Cumming of Marina del Rey, CA and their families.  David was a 1968 graduate of East Grand Rapids High School and received a B.A. from Albion College.  Always the life of the party, David was clever, adventurous and fun whether looking for gold in Peru or fly fishing the Little Manistee River at the family’s cabin.  David always maintained his wonderful sense of humor and had a memory like a steel trap.  He leaves his family and friends with wonderful memories.  A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.  In lieu of flowers please make a donation in David’s honor to http://hopenetwork.org/foundation/give.
