Donna Jean (Haggadone) Whitford

Donna Jean (Haggadone) Whitford, 91, passed away peacefully on December 16, 2025 in Grand Rapids, MI.  Donna was born on May 30,1934 to Bert and Mildred Haggadone in Port Huron where she lived most of her life.

She loved her “kids” at both Port Huron Central and Port Huron Northern High Schools, working in the Attendance and Assistant Principal’s office for almost 30 years, before retiring in 1997.

She was a long-time member of the First Presbyterian Church in Port Huron and had special memories of the friends she made there. She doted on her grandsons, attending all their various activities and delighting in tales of their many adventures.

She enjoyed doing needlework, especially counted cross stitch, giving away many of her pieces to family and friends.  An avid reader and gardener, she loved spending time nurturing her flowers and then curling up on the couch with a good book and one of her favorite cats.

She is survived by her son, David (Stephanie) Whitford; daughter, Wendy Esterline; and grandsons Christopher “CJ” (Allison) Balogh and Brady Esterline.

A private memorial service will be held at a future date with interment at Riverlawn Cemetery in Marysville, MI.
