Douglas W. Alberts

Douglas Wade Alberts, age 58, of Grand Rapids, Michigan passed away unexpectedly on Monday, March 10, 2025. Doug was born on May 3, 1966 to the late Minnie Alberts and Fredrick Alberts in Cadillac, Michigan. He graduated from Marion High School; and received his Masters of Arts in Organizational Learning and Performance from Western Michigan University in 2017. 

Doug loved his original home in Marion, Michigan and was a strong advocate for cleaning up Mill Pond. He had a green-thumb and loved spending time in his yards in Marion and Grand Rapids growing flowers and vegetables; and concocting new recipes from some of the plants from his garden. 

Doug married Marti Noel Henry on September 26, 1998 and they lived together in Grand Rapids, Michigan for thirty years. Marti was the love of his life and let her know with loving words and gestures throughout each day. He is survived by his wife, Marti Alberts; his cousin, Rhonda Campbell of Arkansas; his best friend, Dawn Hultgren; his niece, Shawn Henry Owen (Norm Siegel); his nephew, Mike Henry (Lisa); and great-nephews; Henry, Oscar, and William; and his sweet dog, Harley. Doug was a dedicated, kind-hearted man who was young-at-heart with a quick wit that kept us laughing. He will be truly missed.
