Eldon L.D. Spoors

Eldon L.D. Spoors, age 90, born August 16, 1930 and died on July 2, 2021. He worked for over 20 years for the Argus Press and newspapers. He was a devoted father and loved his kids very much. Al’s best friends of 30 years were Marie and Howard Hopkins. When Howard passed away, Al was asked to stay with Marie and he did. They were good for one another.  Marie and Al were Ballroom dancers and went every weekend to the VFW.  He was an Army Veteran, served in Korea.  He was a member of the American Legion and a lifetime member of VFW post 15023.  Eldon was a wonderful person; very generous with a heart of gold.  He will be greatly missed by Marie and friends and the cat that he loved.  Marie wants to thank the staff at Metropolitan Hospital and a special thank you to nurse Toyin at Metro.  Visitation will be held on Tuesday July 13th from 2 to 4pm at the Metcalf & Jonkhoff Funeral Home.  A graveside service will be at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens 1pm on Wednesday July 14th.
