Eleanore E. Sarafis

Eleanore “Ellie” Sarafis passed away peacefully on May 26 at the age of 93. Born in Grand Rapids, Michigan, she was the daughter of Herm and Angie Meyer.

She is preceded in death by her late husband, Chris Sarafis. She is survived by her devoted daughter and son-in-law, Tally and Jim Parks; her cherished grandson, Greyson; and family member and caregiver, Natalie Peterson. She is also fondly remembered by her stepdaughters, Eileen Bertsch and Linda Triant.

Ellie will be remembered for her compassion, kindness, and creative spirit. She had a deep appreciation and love for fashion and enjoyed modeling for local stores and charities. She was very creative and enjoyed decorating and painting. Ellie was also an avid tennis player, continuing to play well into her retirement. She and Chris shared a love of travel, especially enjoying their time in Greece. Ellie spent her winters in Naples, where she cherished the warm weather, active lifestyle, and time with friends.

The visitation will take place on June 3rd, 2025 at 10 am immediately following at 11 am there will be a Celebration of Life both will be held at Mayflower Congregational Church located at 2345 Robinson Road, Grand Rapids, Michigan.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ellie’s honor to Bissell Pet Foundation and Faith Hospice.
