Frances Elizabeth Faulkner Larson Patten, 5 months short of her 100th birthday went home to be with her Lord on Friday, January 24, 2020. She passed away peacefully surrounded by family and the loving care givers from Rest Haven Homes and Faith Hospice.
Fran was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Bennett C. Larson, her husband of 14 months, Sidney Patten, son Roland Larson, son-in-law Kirk DeHaan, parents W. Frank and Veva Fern Faulkner, and siblings, Jack, Bill, Jim, Don, John, and Ray Faulkner.
Fran is survived by her children Brad and Barbara Larson (Eagle River, WI) and Christine DeHaan (Ada, MI); grandchildren Nathan and April Larson, Jennifer Larson, Samuel and Kristen DeHaan, Katie DeHaan, Joshua DeHaan, Jonathan DeHaan, Matthew DeHaan; great grandchildren Allison Kieffer, Michaela Kieffer, and Bradley Larson; brother Robert and Ellie Faulkner; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is also survived by stepchildren Carol (William) Kerr, Nancy (Dan) Henderson, Barb Patten, Ron (Linda) Patten, Leigh (Kristin) Patten, Charles (Velda) Patten, Larry Patten, Elizabeth Pedersen Patten, Ruth (Wayne) Griffith, Fred (Steph) Patten; 26 step grandchildren, and 32 step great grandchildren.
Fran grew up in Champaign, IL where she met Ben Larson, an architectural engineering student at the University of Illinois. They were married during World War II and eventually settled and raised their family in the Chicago area.
Ben and Fran’s home was always a place of warm hospitality and Christian fellowship. They loved spending time with family, especially at the family cabin on Stormy Lake in the beautiful north woods of Conover, WI.
Fran will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
A memorial service to worship the God she loved and to celebrate her life will be held on Saturday, February 1, at 2:00pm at Rest Haven Homes, 1424 Union Ave NE, Grand Rapids, MI. 49505. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Upper Peninsula Bible Camp and/or Rest Haven Homes.
