Frank G. Whitman

Frank G. Whitman passed away Sunday, September 11, in Grand Rapids, at the age of 82.  Frank was a life long resident of Grand Rapids and worked in Quality Control for General Motors, 36th St. plant for 30 years.  He was an avid golfer, had a love for bowling and worked part time at Northfield Lanes for 20 years.  Frank was preceded in death by his son Stephen, parents George and Catherine, sisters Marilyn Ferris, Marcia Triplett and brother Fred Whitman.  He is survived by his wife of 60 years Kay, daughter, Kristen (Mark) Fritsma, son Scott (Becky) Whitman, grandsons, Alex Whitman, Ryan Wysocki, Joel Fritsma, Aaron Fritsma, Dustin Whitman, sister Peggy Patterson and many cousins, nieces and nephews.  Visitation will be held, Friday, September 16, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Metcalf & Jonkhoff Funeral Home and one hour prior to the funeral service at church.  Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, September 17, 1:00 pm at Hope Lutheran Church, 100 Packard Ave. SE, Grand Rapids, with Interment following.  Contributions can be made to the American Heart Association, or Grace Hospice.
