G Jay Rottman MD, age 92, passed peacefully into eternal grace on Sunday, April 12, 2026, at the side of his beloved wife of 54 years, Joyce Rottman. Born in Fremont, MI on August 26, 1933, he was the son of Carrie Aleita (Reed) and George Rottman. G Jay grew up in Portland, MI, and graduated from Portland High School in 1951, just after winning the regional tennis tournament. He then went on to attend and graduate from Calvin College in 1955, and from the University of Michigan Medical School in 1960. G Jay had a busy general practice in Greenville, MI until 1973, and after completing a second specialty, he served as a radiologist in Grand Rapids until retiring. He was passionate about his family, friends and former patients, and loved to reminisce. With G Jay’s passing, Tweety Bird has lost his most avid fan, and our hearts are breaking from this unfamiliar empty spot, but we are so thankful G Jay was ours to love and thankful for the peace that passes understanding . . . “Love you more.”
