George Shough

George Herbert Shough passed away on Monday, September 18, 2023, at the age of 83.  He was born in Waynesburg, Pennsylvania, on February 8, 1940, to the late George and Dossie Mae Shough. 

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 27 years, Jane M. Ross, his nephews, Rick (Sue) Hopkins, Kevin (Patty) Sidonis, Larry Sidonis, Jr., and niece, Debra (Don) Hewlett and several great nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his sisters Byllye Lee Sidonis and Melba Jo Nichols; his half-siblings Karen Robson and Ronald Shough; and his dear Aunt Aldine.

For over 60 years George was in the Printing Industry.  Prior to owning his company, he served in the US Navy.  He loved to golf, was an avid University of Michigan football fan, an excellent bridge player and loved to visit and spend time at the casino.  George also was an animal lover and enjoyed feeding all of the deer and turkeys in their backyard.  He loved and missed his dog King, who was his loyal companion for many years.  George was a loving husband, uncle, and friend who will be deeply missed.   

Cremation has taken place.  Visitation will be held at the Metcalf and Jonkhoff Funeral Home on Friday, September 22nd from 4-7pm with some sharing of words at 6:30pm followed by a reception at Frankie V’s Restaurant, 1420 28th St SW, Wyoming, MI, immediately following visitation.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association or the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
